• Laboratory Technician at Aalborg Portland’s Group Research and Quality Competence Center

As our new Laboratory Technician, you will play an important role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our concrete products through systematic laboratory testing and analysis. You will be responsible for performing a range of technical laboratory activities related to the preparation, handling, and testing of materials used in concrete production.

Your work will include preparing and analyzing samples, maintaining and verifying laboratory equipment, and carrying out tests on aggregates, fresh concrete, and hardened concrete in accordance with relevant standards and procedures. You will also contribute to validating concrete mix designs and ensuring accurate data collection to support quality control and product development.

Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:

  • Perform specialized laboratory tests on cement, cementitious materials, aggregates, and concrete.
  • Prepare, process, and properly store laboratory samples, including drying, crushing, and milling.
  • Conduct standard tests on fresh and hardened concrete.
  • Support mix design validation and special testing requests.
  • Record, evaluate, and report results ensuring traceability.
  • Maintain and verify laboratory equipment.
  • Assist with SOP updates and implementation of new test methods.
  • Support quality control, training activities, and general laboratory organization. 

Your profile
We are looking for a structured, detail-oriented, and self-driven professional who takes responsibility for their work and approaches tasks in a systematic manner. You are persistent, eager to learn, and capable of maintaining a clear overview of multiple tasks in a dynamic laboratory environment.

At the same time, you are a collaborative team player who communicates effectively with colleagues and contributes positively to maintaining high standards of quality and safety.

We imagine that you:

  • Have a technical background and preferably experience working in a laboratory environment within a concrete company or with concrete-related field activities
  • Possess knowledge of cement, aggregates, and chemical additives used in concrete production
  • Have experience working in a Quality Control laboratory
  • Are comfortable using Microsoft Office applications for documentation and reporting
  • Are an experienced IT user, preferably with knowledge of SAP
  • Speak Danish and English at a minimum basic working level
